Summary:

Responsible to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) and Safety departments including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, occupational health safety operations and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Liphatech safety policies and procedures.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to subordinates, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages and participates in the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees and conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Direct and/or participate in the investigation of confidential issues/employee complaints and counsel personnel on employee related matters.
  • Direct and assist in the annual reviews and makes salary recommendations to the Executive Director of Corporate Compliance.
  • Direct and coordinate various activities designed to promote and maintain high employee morale.
  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Reviews accident and incident reports.
  • Responsible for security systems, control access administration and camera system.

Supervisory Requirements:

Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws when needed. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; ensuring adequate staffing; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
A minimum of 3 years of human resources management or 7 -10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
A minimum of 3 years of extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Previous payroll processing experience required.

Other Skills and Ability:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).
Capable of relating to individuals at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
